Here goes nothing!


Tomorrow is Christmas morning for us Oscar enthusiasts. I can barely sleep with excitement. I have a hunch that there will be some major surprises this year, what with the Best Picture category being expanded to 10 nominees and with everyone seeming to think they know the 5 expected nominees in each category.

I have played it rather safe in my nomination predictions. I suspect Hurt Locker and Avatar will be big winners. Nine will be left out as expected. And we should see practically the same category line ups that we saw at the SAG awards. But wouldn't it be great to see Maya Rudolph pop up in Best Actress or Marion Cotillard pop up in Best Supporting Actress.

A girl can dream, can't she.
